Combat combines several antimicrobial agents and a fungicide. For minor bacterial problems, raised scales and to lower protozoan parasites that commonly cause a white film treat the pond two or three times depending on the severity at seven-day intervals. For severe bacterial and parasitic problems Combat can be safely used at double the stated dose but ensure adequate aeration. For serious gill fluke treat the pond 3 times at four-day intervals using the standard dose for a minor problem or at double dose if the fish are seriously infected with gill fluke . A dip can be tried for individual fish suffering any bacterial or parasitic condition and is effective for many gill problems - two teaspoons of Combat in 10 gallons of water for 5 -10 minutes depending on toleration. Combat minimally affects filter bacteria.
